On the 23rd, four staff members took a ferry from Yakushima, stayed one night in Kagoshima, and then drove to Nagasaki. Despite having an accident on the highway, we safely arrived at the exotic town.
The next day, we worked hard on preparation for the special exhibition ``Encounter with Father Sidotti: The Japanese who knew the West'' which will be held from the 26th. The museum building was once a seminary and is an important cultural property built in 1896. The exhibition, set in a retro atmosphere, turned out quite well.
After working up a sweat climbing up and down Holland Hill during the loading process, we had dinner with the museum curators at Dejima Wharf, overlooking the harbor. We enjoyed the appearance of Nagasaki, an international port city during the Edo period.
