As part of a project commissioned by Kagoshima Prefecture, “A project to raise awareness of Sidotti's achievements in spreading Western culture,'' we held the second eco-tour of Koshima Village for 29 Koshima residents.
Even if you look at the familiar scenery of the village where you live, you can discover something interesting if you change your perspective.
The storyteller was Shoji Okubo, a former mountain guide who currently works as a taxi driver and lives on Koshima. He used his humorous storytelling skills to provide easy-to-understand explanations.
It was difficult to bring together participants of various ages, from infants to people in their 80s, but the children of the Koshima Children's Association listened intently, and the elderly took to the microphone to share their own experiences.
It was a fun two-hour tour.
