There was an administrative tour by 17 people, including members of the Kagoshima Prefectural Assembly, and we enthusiastically explained our NPO activities.

We welcomed an administrative inspection team made up of 11 Kagoshima assembly members, 2 assembly secretariat chiefs, and 4 Kagoshima prefecture Yakushima office staff, and after giving explanations our activities using video and power point, we showed them the observation tower and planned construction site of the Memorial Museum.

Unfortunately, the community center was occupied, so we had to bring in fans and circulators to hold the event at the Catholic Yakushima Church in an environment without air conditioning. However, the explanation that is displayed in the church, surrounded by a copy of the statue of Mary that Sidotti carried when he landed on Yakushima, and a photo of the Resurrection Statue, makes Sidotti's life stand out even more.

We received a variety of comments during the Q&A session, and some purchased books and original toto bags, demonstrating the high level of interest among the members of the Kagoshima assembly. During the outdoor explanation, many people expressed their amazement at the splendor of the scenery.

We were encouraged by one comment, “This is a very important piece of Kagoshima's history. We need to communicate it more widely.''
