As the second part of our Yakushima village tour experience, we participated in a village tour of the Hirauchi Village. After watching a video summarizing the year's events in the village, we walked around the village for about an hour and a half.
The main attractions of Hirauchi Village are the various historical grave sites and shrines related to the Shimazu family that are scattered along the old road, and the natural monument Kannon Bamboo. In addition, we were offered frozen Tankan that has been properly thawed naturally.
