To experience the Yakushima village tour, we participated in a village tour of Nakama village. First, we received welcome sweets such as Kakaran Dango（local dumpling）and plums at the community center, and watched a video about making brown sugar. The stories told by the storyteller, Taichi Kawasaki, were interesting, and the historical and cultural stories unique to someone who grew up in a village were educational and provided a fun time.
After that, we walked around the village for about an hour and a half and received explanations. The highlight of Nakama village is its appearance, lined with large banyan trees and beautiful stone walls. Although it is a small village, we could feel the lives of the people who loved this village.
